Beverwedstrijd Contest

Logic & Computational Thinking

The Beverwedstrijd is the Dutch edition of the international Bebras Challenge, which began in 2004.

Open to students from groep 3 through secondary school, it introduces computational thinking through engaging puzzles involving patterns, logical reasoning and problem-solving.

Students complete an online challenge with tasks tailored to their school-year group, and no prior programming knowledge is needed.

The contest takes place each November; the 2026 edition runs from 9-20 November.

W4Kangoeroe Contest

Mathematical Problem-Solving

W4Kangoeroe is part of the international Kangaroo maths contest and has been held in the Netherlands since 1994.

Open to students from groep 3 through secondary school, it offers different levels of creative multiple-choice problems involving numbers, shapes and logical reasoning. The questions become progressively more challenging, encouraging students to use insight and explore different approaches.

The contest takes place each March; the 2027 edition runs from 18–26 March.
